I have a doorbell camera (disclosed in listing) and our max occupancy is 4 people. The city permit would allow up to 6, but we dropped it to 4 based on what the house can handle.
I just checked our camera and noticed two cars of people loading in. It’s a family so I’m not expecting a party, but there are 2 young kids (one is an infant) and this was not disclosed to us. The guest booked 3 guests in her party and mentioned she was coming with her mom and may bring a friend or two. So I asked to her please update us if it ends up being 4 so we can adjust the reservation.
I’m counting 9 people on my camera! And I saw them loading in what looks like a big foam mattress topper and pillows. I’m going to wait until morning to see if the car and guests haven’t left. Maybe they are just hanging out and the other car will leave before nighttime. Still not cool but whatever.
The reservation is only for one night.
My question - how should I handle this? I have a 5.0 host rating and if I call them out (and charge them an extra fee, which seems fair), I fear they will retaliate with a bad review. I’m a new-ish host.
What would you do in my situation?
