My interaction led me to pull my listing. Background: I am a new host, having a rough start trying to rent a park model trailer (that’s one step below a single wide mobile and one step above a travel trailer, it’s not meant for camping it’s meant to be in a mobile park) it’s been updated about 2 years ago with wood flooring and nice toilet and a queen spa sensations bed. I had 3 booking initially but 2 of them saw it and left, my 1st one and my 3rd one. The other person said it was great and said the bed was amazing and wants to come back. No booking for a week then 2 back to back for this weekend. But then I suddenly get a person with no account history insta book 2 weeks and asking if it’s been cleared with county planning and am I paying the transient tax, and says she’s monitoring short term stays in my area for safety and cleanliness etc… I checked on the tab on Airbnb regarding local ordinances and it doesn’t list any for my area. I denied the booking and was shocked to find no obvious way to block this person and they immediately responded that I was being reported and I need to contact county planning. So It seems this person is either some sort of enforcement agent or was trying a scam. Either way I pulled the listing. Am I screwed or was this nothing more than a scam going around?
Definitely a scam. Book 2 weeks, really?
