So, Iāve been hosting for a little over a year. Tuesday, was the day of days, and I received the most ridiculous complaint about my house, and Iām not sure how to address this.
Guest shows up for their 1 week reservation, checked in, no issues.
Day #2:
I receive a message from Airbnb support that the guest is complaining about how unsafe the neighborhood is (because I have a cop living next to me), that the artwork I have (Batman and Robin ((Adam West era)) driving in their Batmobile to the style of fear and loathing in Las Vegas, Danny DeVito as Ongo Gablogian, Anthony Bourdain, and some other pop culture pieces in the house) is offensive. He went on to say that my painting of Anthony Bourdain is offensive because he āmolestes children and killed himselfā.
I provide a coin operated pinball table in the game room (Iron Maiden themed) which he referred to as satanic and offensive.
In addition, he basically just went on and on about how he builds houses and works and stays in multi-million dollar houses and that my house is a piece of shit, and a prison in a horrible neighborhood.
He left without cancelling, and is demanding a full refund. Iāve told Airbnb, if he cancels his reservation, I will refund him for nights that were unused. He has 2 more days left on his reservation so his opportunity to cancel and receive any money back is shrinking. If he doesnāt cancel, how can I avoid what I expect will be an absolutely inflammatory review?
Iāve never received a complaint like this. All the guests have had great things to say about the design and decoration of the house. Currently on Airbnb w/ 4.85 āļø and 25 reviews.
