Post Body

I grew up Christian but I currently see myself as agnostic. I am dating a man who was raised Muslim and is agnostic. My mom knows that he and I are dating and she often says that she's okay with us dating but just to make sure that I don't end up hating Christains.

I think this is so weird because even if I don't fully believe in all the teachings of the bible, it doesn't mean I'm going to do a 360 on Christians and start hating them. Yes, there are people who have been hurt by the church and therefore they have grown to hate it which is okay. But that's not my experience.

It's weird that she thinks I would be intolerant of it just because I am dating outside of the religion. Shd does not know I am agnostic btw.

Ultimately I think it stems from the verse in Luke 11:23 that says something like "he who is not fore me is against me".
