Just got approached by a woman with glasses claiming she needs money for her tuition. She had a notecard with Venmo and payment methods along with cookies in a plastic baggie. I immediately recognized the scam and said Iâm not interested. My friend gives her the benefit of the doubt and starts talking to her. Basically he says that he would like to help if itâs through the university. I tell him itâs a scam and she gets immediately upset and tells me âDonât say that! Donât say when you donât know the full storyâ. I then told her to stop bothering us as we are trying to study. She leaves and tries her luck with other students to no avail. Still annoyed that I had to deal with this while we are doing homework. Does anyone have more background on these people?
I remember buying 2 chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for $2 from some students trying to fund their club at the MSC bus stop area last year. Hopefully that wasnât a scam but the cookies were good.

They wanted $10 for 3 cookies? Thatâs fucked up.
