Trying regression

Hi, for context to understand completely, I have DID and another alter in the system regresses. I've had a long day today and when an alter in my system has a hard day they usually regress. I personally have never regressed but I'm curious and want to give it a try. Should I? Physically we are female (though identify as gender fluid/NB) but I am male. Is that weird for me to want to try? I've only ever felt this once before.
