A lot of the time, I get hyped as hell about new model ranges for AoS and immediately start fantasizing about making a new army.
Equally often, my opinion of models changes once I have them in my hand and start building.
I started this thread because I was thinking about the Cities of Sigmar range. I've been putting some together over the last week. At first, I thought this range looked amazing, gritty, human, real, fun, whimsic etc.
Now, though...the steelhelms are junk, in my opinion. These are ugly models. They look like army men with the circles on their feet for basing. They achieved the look of a ragtag group of humans in a tough world, I guess, but I don't think these line up favourably with other AoS minis, at least not for me. They remind me a lot of Kruleboyz, same kind of direction.
Anyway, I just found myself doing a 180 on the Cities stuff once I got it in my hands. Any examples of similar happening to you?
