Not new to aos just slowly getting burnt out with the armies I've tried will explain the run with what I didn't like about them.
1st up was nighthaunt (I played VC and Dark elves for oldhammer)- loved the death Faction more as VC were my favorite way back when (8th) figured I'd start here. Tabletop wise very resilient and melee oriented. Very meh on magic. Broke if I blink sideways. Gave up on them for that very reason. Don't like it when things snap In transport or seem fairly one dimensional.
2nd- fyreslayers . No magic= no fantasy feel. Models were durable on and off table top. Great at melee. So slow it hurts.
3- tzeentch . Hit the high fantasy feel. Very very one trick pony. Hero phase army with the oh no I'm being hit feel. Shooting was mediocre, melee was non existent.
Now I'd like to get things right without having any back to the drawing board feels...
Ideally I want a non fragile miniature, magic over prayers, multiple phase army . The openly "evil" are preferred. Thank you in advance
