"Murder on the Links" and Actual Spying
Post Body

Over on "Today I Learned" they're talking about Operation Mincemeat. That was a spy operation during WWII.

Now this could be construed as a spoiler so I'll be careful:

Papers about a planned invasion were put on the body of a man who was already dead. The body was discovered by the Germans who believed that papers to be genuine. When I read this I wondered if this idea was inspired by Christie's "Murder on the Links" where something very similar happens. Christie wrote the book many years before WWII.
