This is getting noted in comment sections all over this sub, but I think it's time we had a proper discussion on the subject.
The misters seem to LOVE referring to any and all women and girls as "females," even going so far in one case as to call their own children "female children." Meanwhile, men remain "men"--or, as they probably prefer, "men and boys." The hypocrisy here is obvious.
As I see it, the result is that women are stripped of their humanity while men remain fully people in their eyes. In one sense, I suppose it helps sustain their worldview of women--oh, I'm sorry, "feminists"--as faceless and lesser creatures to be fought against in the "battle" for men's rights, creatures which may not even be capable of acting with much more agency than obeying basic instinct and biology. (Obviously, few misters would agree with that, and my anger is perhaps exaggerating the implications--but it's not exaggerating them much, and I'm not going to sugarcoat it either way.)
Whether they are aware of this dichotomy remains to be seen, but they certainly perpetuate it in all levels of mister culture. It has become part of their discourse, an accepted diction, part and parcel with any discussion of the opposite sex.
I guess this thread is just so that we can bring this out of the shadows, if nobody has done so already in the past. As you can probably tell, every iteration of the "female" designation makes me incredibly angry.
Let me know below what you think is the reason for it, and whether or not you think they know what they're doing, and whether it was started on purpose or arose out of the general toxic morass. Let's have a discussion in general. I know I'm not alone in this. And if you have them on hand, feel free to link to some of the more egregious examples of "man/female."
To the misters: We're onto you.
