Given the current state of AFL23, it's clear that the game has significantly underperformed, plagued by numerous issues beyond just gameplay. Even with the release of a "Pro Team" mode akin to FIFA's "Ultimate Team," any initial surge in popularity is likely to be short-lived. The core gameplay remains subpar, and the CEO's unprofessional conduct further diminishes faith in the game's long-term success. For instance, consider a scenario where you've invested money to build an impressive team. If you attempt to play online on a Saturday night at 10 PM, the lack of active players would mean you'd struggle to find a match, rendering the investment futile. Similarly, those who refrained from spending extra but still paid $99 for the game and its new mode would feel severely let down. While the concept of a "Pro Team" mode is appealing and something fans have long desired, the execution leaves much to be desired. The overall quality and relevance of the game's menus and features is irrelevant with all the issues. Reflecting on experiences with FIFA, their model often encourages significant spending to craft a team worth boasting about. However, AFL23 offers no such satisfaction; in fact, having a strong team in this game might be more of an embarrassment due to its flawed execution.
