Hey everyone!
I am a copywriter for a hotel chain, but ultimately my goal is to work in "pure" advertising for an agency. I've already worked my way up from junior, but I'm slightly concerned about getting stuck in the hospitality sector, and beyond that, my day-to-day is very much more that of a content writer with some elements of copywriting thrown in.
I have been thinking about returning to study, and have been impressed by the look of Miami Ad School Europe. The focus would be on portfolio building and no doubt networking (placement at a Berlin agency is mandatory) but this will take me a year to complete and comes with the obvious expenses of study fees and time spent away from work (at least full-time).
I guess there is no one correct way or journey for people in the industry, but I'm on the fence about whether to take the study path, or whether to stick it out at my job for a while and just keep applying for copywriting (or even junior copywriting) positions.
How did you find your way into advertising as a copywriter?
