Anything out there that equals The Dig?
Post Body

So, I've played pretty most of the classic point and click games. Most of the old Lucas Arts and Sierra catalogue. I revisited both Indy: Fate of Atlantis and The Dig during lockdown and I think these class as my absolute all time favourites for a perfect balance of puzzles, story and atmosphere.

What I really loved about The Dig was the atmosphere of mystery that it builds and the well crafted story, it's so evocative. I've struggled to find anything else in that vein that comes close. I'd love something in the SF genre that has the same feel.

For example, I recently played Virtuaverse but it felt simplistic compared to these older games. Oxenfree I really enjoyed for the feel and atmosphere but again the game itself is simplistic and lacks puzzles.

Any suggestions? (I'm on a mid 2012 MacBook Pro).

I couldn't agree more with this comment. If it needs to be Sci Fi then yeah it won't fit, but if it's just atmosphere and an unravelling mystery you're looking for, The Last Door 1 2 is a fantastic purchase. I constantly mention on it here!
