"The Story of Jimmy Rebel". I'm shocked that out of all the episodes this is the one they deemed too far. Binging the series now so that's why it's top of mind for me.
Bc it may be one of the best representations and satire of the idiocy of judging someone by their skin color instead of their personal character. And basically saying what "white rights" or "traditional values" people are really thinking without filters.
Especially post Trump, this is an episode more people who maybe have never seen the show or haven't for awhile can really benefit from viewing. Giving so much insight into the mindsets of bigotry and stereotyping, especially those perpetuated by entertainmemt media.
Like Jimmy making the tired and pathetic argument of the good vs bad ones and it's just about "attitude" or having all these extreme and specific opinions about black people but actually having only spoken to 4 or 5 black people in his life.
And the hilarious twist on the "and then he was racist no more" ending to so many racial based stories; that is simultaneously disgustingly racist but weirdly heartwarming (something really only The Boondocks could pull off).
Makes me think there's a reason THIS episode isn't allowed on there, as it's one of the few episodes OF THE SHOE purely aimed at critisizing white people instead of black people and does it overtly. Probably indicative of a lot of hypocritical crap Aaron had to deal with, with studios while making his shows (no wonder he got burnt out).
I think Ruckus would put it like this (read it in his voice): "Thank the white god for the glorious white executives at HBO for their unbridled wisdom to hide the slanderous parody of the white man's justified hatred against the darkies".
