Background: I've experienced non recent child sexual abuse and I've recently had flashbacks and I've also found it's had a significant impact on my ability to form a healthy relationship, particularly a sexual one.
I've recently found the local Sexual abuse referral centre has a SA counselling centre and I'm considering seeking a referral.
I discussed one of the flashbacks with the rape crisis line who validated my experience as sexjal abuse.
So I'm wondering for anyone who's accessed trauma counselling what should I expect, what questions do they ask for a referral, how long does it take to be seen, what type of support can be provided through counselling sessions etc? E.g will it only be about the experience itself or can I also talk about the problems it's caused me.
