What type of therapy/therapist should I look for?

I’m looking for advice on what type of therapy or mental health provider to look for. I’ve had depression for my entire adult life, so I’ve seen plenty of regular old therapists, but I think I need something/someone more specialized to help me currently.

I wonder if I have repressed memories (hubby independently brought this concern up with me also) of abuse when I was a child.

Is there a specific type of therapy or provider I should search for? I’ve read here about EMDR and other things but don’t really know what would be likely to help with my situation. Thanks so much!
