I recently tracked my expenses, and my God, I spent 4k more than my income for this month
Post Body

This is not a financial advice. This is more of a self-realization/ mini rant.

Actually, matagal na ako nagtry magtrack talaga via Excel. Pero nafufrustate ako kasi tuwing nagchecheck ako gabi-gabi, hindi nagbabangga yung actual vs recorded. Just this September, ang ginawa ko na lang ay nirecord ko lahat ng expenses without check and balance. Lol.

Anyway, according sa tracker ko here are my top 5 expenses:

  1. Rent - 31%
  2. Subscriptions - 11%
  3. Social Life - 11%
  4. Family - 11%
  5. Food - 5%

Yes, aware ako na mataas ang rent ko. Pero isa ito sa mga trade-offs in having a car. Kasama kasi diyan ang parking. Will I move to a cheaper place? Probably. Kapag maganda yung lugar. It comes with peace of mind din kasi. Never ko pa naexperience baha dito. Malapit sa public transpo, malls and other establishments.

Expenses na pwede kong iwasan/ bawasan:

  1. Bigay sa family - hindi naman talaga ako “required” magbigay on a monthly basis. As needed lang.

  2. Social Life AKA gala - no need to explain hahaha pero kasi ang hirap iwasan ito. Introvert ako pero mahilig lumabas tuwing weekends. Lol

  3. Leisure activities such as traveling. Okay kasama kasi ito sa pumasok sa billing ko. Next month wala na ito.

I will be honest. In the past, wala talaga akong pakialam sa pera ko. As long as masaya ako at nagagawa ko gusto ko, go lang! Labas every weekend, kain, inom, etc. Ngayon, gusto ko na kasi maging active in saving money and it starts by being aware sa mga expenses.
