During Christmas, all my relatives gather at our house for Christmas Eve. I host, especially for my younger cousins who spend the night. It's become a tradition where I guide the gift-giving without revealing names, just dropping clues. We feast, spoil the kids, and have a blast with games and food. But New Year's is different. Our extended family splits up to celebrate at their own homes. At our place, it's just us adults, and last year, I felt pretty lonely. So, this year, I'm thinking of treating myself to a nice hotel stay, enjoying good food, binge-watching holiday movies, maybe catching fireworks or hitting a club. My worries? Will I get a hotel booking now? And how hard it'll be to tell my Mom, knowing she might disapprove.
