So, was talking to a few of my colleagues and the subject about adultering in the military came up. One joe was telling us the story of many years ago when one guy on his team was married, but had an AP.
This went on for a few years, about two, with this joe and another woman he met. The main joe in this was married, but had an affair and this continued for a while. Come deployment, the joe told his AP about it and of course she was sad and hurt that he was leavleavfor a few months.
At the time, there wasn't much communication with internet or cell phones so the joe and his AP used snail mail and phone cards. Time went on, and the joe tragically was KIA. His AP never knew this and when time came for him to return, she was eagerly waiting to hear from him.
Days passed, then weeks, and finally a month or two. At the time, myspace was the big IT thing so she reached out to the joes friends to see what was going on. She found out the hard way of what became of him.
After hearing that story, made me wonder how many APs have passed away and the other half not knowing what happened. I can't even imagine one does in such a situation. You can't say anything that would give out your APs activities and leave a bad last impression on them for others to see.
Anyways, just a little story that got me thinking.
