Make Reverse Image Searching Your Friend
Post Body

Not quite an OPSEC tip but more of a tool you can use to keep yourself from being catfished and investing time into a bullshitter.

Practically every time you get a photo, it's always a good idea to do a reverse image search to see if that photo appears anywhere else on the web. Tineye.com is quite good, however you can also use Bing and Google to do reverse image searching as well. Just today, I had a "woman" sending me photos of pornstar Hitomi Tanaka, trying to pass it off as herself. Once I did a reverse image search, I downloaded a few pictures of Tanaka as well and texted them back to this "lady", asking if she still wanted to meet. I don't know why "she" hasn't messaged me back yet. rofl

Guys know by now any photo that looks too perfect --- flawless lighting and a woman who looks way too photogenic --- the odds are it's a fake picture. However iPhone quality is getting pretty damn good these days, so "looks too professional" isn't the dead giveaway it used to be. For women, a reverse image search can probably save you time from being stood up and/or ghosted when it comes time to meeting. They're likely ghosting because they know damn well they're not who they sent you a photo of.

There's a Firefox extension you can add to your browser called "Who Stole My Pictures" which will perform a reverse image search using 5 different search engines. It's not a fail-safe, fool-proof method but you're sure to catch a few time wasters and bullshitters.

Another method I use is like the verification process of other image posting subreddits where I ask the person to take a photo with a thumbs-up, a peace-sign or other thing rather difficult to find fakes of. They stop responding to me after that request too and again, I just don't understand why. lol
