As a married person, when you get into a relationship with another married person, what are your expectations?

It is either you and your AP would remain with your respective spouses and continue to have an affair. Or you would leave them for you two to be together forever.

If you choose not to leave your respective spouses, what makes you think your affair will be forever?

And if you choose to leave your respective spouses to be together, where is the guarantee that you will be happy forever?

However you look at it, there is always a RISK involved. And the amount is a function of how much of the heart is involved. .

Have an affair but keep the heart out of it. It is not so smart!
