I’m wondering for all of those who have had affairs. Has cheating caused you to have a general mistrust of people?
I feel that way a lot. I think about what life would look like post divorce if that were to happen. I can’t see myself trusting another man. I’ve spoken to so many responsible, “professional” men that you could never guess were being unfaithful, and yet they are. I’m not excluding myself. If I can do this, anyone can. I think things were simpler for me before I ventured into the world of affairs. I’d have taken people at their word. Now, it’s all gone to hell.
