The phrase "echo chamber" gets tossed around a lot in this sub, on other subs ABOUT this sub, on other subs about their OWN subs. We toss it against each other (happened to me just the other day) and oftentimes we admit it to ourselves that we like our echo chambers. Echo chambers help us feel normal, connected to others with whom we share similar mindsets. Sometimes echo chambers are good, empowering, educational, and highlight the internal diversity WITHIN that very echo chamber.
Frankly, I love our echo chamber. It doesn't bother me that this is an echo chamber to a degree because the opinions within this sub are widely varied. I've been reading this sub for about ten years and it just hasn't gotten boring to me.
I was listening to a podcast episode recently called "The Cult of Reddit" from the "Sounds Like a Cult" podcast. The podcast is hosted by comedians, is NOT AT ALL credible in the world of the academic study of cults (at least that I can tell), and sometimes their episodes are super fun when I'm out on walks or runs.
The Cult of Reddit episode was a fun listen the other day.

Happy Valentines Day, echo chamber inhabiters! :-)
EDIT: THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY NOT ALL GOOD.
