I'm awaiting diagnosis on a year's long waiting list. I've just started a new job (same company but new role). It's brilliant, my day is completely unstructured and each morning I'm given a list of tasks to complete by the end of the day. I can happily bounce between tasks and I will typically get everything done somehow (even if it's in the last hour before I go home).
However, during this transitional period as I get used to the new job and climb a pretty steep learning curve, I'm self-medicating with a whole lot of caffeine. Between that and a teething toddler and having just bought a new house which we are renovating to move into very soon... I'm sleeping probably 4 hours and night and completely failing to eat anything substantial at all. Basically hyper focus at work and completely unable to function at home and in personal maintenance tasks.
What are your key things to go back to when you are experiencing an unstable period? I'd love some examples of activities, rules or tricks you use to regain some footing when things start getting out of hand. Medication isn't an option for me right now but there must be other things that help?
