It can be a little bit more expensive for me to shop, and I know that isnāt always an option for everyone. But I have discovered that Iāve had to flip the way I do my groceries as food wastage was SUCH a terrible thing in my household. I would never finish a bottle of milk, never finish a bottle of orange juice, CONSTANTLY throw away fruit and vegetables. I would buy with ābig ideasā on what I was going to prep or make, or what I āshouldā prep and make, and it all fizzled out at the end of the day when I was exhausted just from existing, and couldnāt be bothered with any of it.
I put this down to just not having the function at the beginning and end to every day for food preparation. I am now finding things a little easier and less stressful and taxing, to buy the prepackaged healthier ideas so itās quicker to pack my lunch, quicker to prepare my dinner.
Iāll buy frozen dumplings and chuck them in the packet broth and that will do me for a few nights, only having to reheat when needed. Iāll mix the peaches with 2 minute oats for lunch or breakfast. Prepackaged lettuce saves me the prep time and my brain switching off and not wanting to.
I am definitely learning to āmove the hookā and make my world work for me, instead of continuing to try to fit into a world that maybe wasnāt designed for me in the first place š
