Is anyone else addicted to routine?

I have always been high functioning (good grades, responsible, driven) but I’ve always gotten my ass kicked by my forgetfulness, my difficulty focusing/sitting still, and emotionally regulating.

However, I have really struggled with my diagnosis because I am so high functioning. Over the years I’ve also built pretty intense routines that are essential to my productivity. Ex. I eat the same 3 meals everyday, I do my grocery shopping/laundry/cleaning on Sat every week, I start my morning the same way everyday.

Does anyone else relate? A lot of my friends with ADHD have such different experiences than me bc they struggle to get their hw in on time, while I successfully juggle 2 jobs while in school (i am on the brink of a mental breakdown lol). But the only way I am able to do this is by being extremely efficient and sticking to a strict routine, so much so that I have to eat the same breakfast everyday.

Does anyone relate? I also want to iterate that this is not easy for me and that the routine can be stiffling, but its the only way I can accomplish my goals.
