So, what’s everyone’s Hyperfocus right now? Mine? Budgeting/money.
Because of dumb shit I have done in my twenties (and as I’m looking through shit, the past 2 years) I have been paying the price for it. I can tell when I was in a depression looking at all the Amazon, Zip and Afterpay transactions. My rent was astronomical and most of my pay was going to that so how in the HELL was I spending what I literally didn’t have? I was clearly living above my means because Wtf. I have a house now with my boyfriend and don’t have to deal with rent anymore.
Now what started this? My car taking a shit and a couple Fridays ago, I payed $900 altogether only to be told by 3 mechanics that I need a new engine.
I’m a social worker, I don’t make money like that. I don’t want an extra bill. I can’t buy a new used car because who knows how reliable that will be. I went on subreddit’s about Debt and reading about other peoples stuff and wow. Then I realize, it’s not that bad. I learned about the Snowball and Avalanche method, I think it’s called, I read about some Ramsey guy whose a scam. I just learned a lot. So now, I have Rocket Money and I have spent most of my morning categorizing everything and I’m just not impressed with myself.
So here’s to a new beginning and I actually look and listen to the app. I am a planner girl so here’s to not messing up.
