So, I’m a social worker and I work with kids/adults that have mental Illness (isn’t it ironic). I was with a client today and we were talking about medications we each take(im a lexapro, Wellbutrin, Strattera and buspirone girly ✌🏽). She asked what the Strattera was for and I told her that it’s for my ADHD. She goes “I would have never thought you had ADHD.”
Ma’am, you should see me not in a work environment; my executive dysfunction when it comes to laundry / cleaning is terrible. I have to be doing 3 things all at one time and then I forget what I’m doing. I get overstimulated a lot of the time. I wake up with a song in my head and won’t stop until I think of another song. It’s so loud in my head most of the time, it’s wild. My procrastination skills are incredible and I’m good under pressure/in crisis situations.
By the end of the day, I’m so exhausted from masking that I just need to go to bed or keep myself busy from falling asleep. That’s my story for the day.
