What are our collective weight issues? An informal poll.

I know there are SOOOOO many factors in maintaining a healthy weight, and by definition, people here get REAL special about things related to diet or exercise, so know that I am ONLY asking for folks if they might share about weight issues and parts of that that they think are related to their ADHD. I'm also not asking for people to "solve" other people's concerns, since we all know our challenges are shared but individual.

I'll go first: I'm overweight, BMI 31ish, always have been on/off struggling in that arena. Major ADHD factors I see with myself are planning for meals and/or interpreting hunger cues AND exercise motivation.

For meals, I rarely take anything with me or prep food because food is a huge dopamine source for me. I chase a flavor or texture depending on how I'm feeling, and since I can't predict that, I never "know" what I want to eat and therefore "see what sounds good" at the time of meals. This sucks me into convenience foods because of a) limited time to eat most days b) having no plan means go with plan of least resistance = packaged/prepared/fast foods c) I don't listen to hunger cues well and get overhungry and need food RIGHT NOW and also then overeat/binge.

As far as exercise goes, I often do feel like I should but if it's not organic exercise like walking or dancing, yard work, etc, then there feels like this huge barrier of needing to find/bring with or put on appropriate clothes, same w footwear, then go to the place and begin the thing. Once I'm there I can get really into it and often stay longer than planned (this is also a problem if ai try to go on a schedule, and want to keep going but have to transition to work/etc... once there I can sometimes find things to do for 2 hours). But the initiation phase is just SO tough.
