Is a little bit of boredom good?

First things first, I, like many of you, absolutely DESPISE being bored. I would rather do things I hate (washing dishes, going through my doom piles, making doctor appointments) than be bored.
I was talking with my wife the other day who mentioned that it might be a good idea to let myself be bored once in a while. Iāve also read several scientific articles about the ābenefits of boredomā for your brain.
Does boredom work for ADHD brains? Does anyone schedule āboredomā time to do nothing?
