F(23). Just recently got diagnosed with ADHD and have been shifting from my usual ssri medication (Trintellex) to Stratera (indirect stimulant) and prozac. While I do feel a general lightness in my mood, I am having a hard time figuring out if it has made any difference in my reactivity. I often have moments where I am overstimulated and fly into rage. It feels like iāve been lacking the āpause and breatheā mechanism my whole life and I donāt know where else to turn. Unfortunately when I overreact I then feel extremely shameful and guilty and it hurts my self esteem. Iāve been in CBT talk therapy and I feel like I just address the same issues over and over again. Should I try a direct stimulant like Adderall? Do I do a ketamine infusion to reset this cycle? I am pretty good at intellectualizing my feelings but I want to be able to feel them in my body and then respond appropriately.
Thoughts?
