Since I’ve got w lot of useful tips from this Reddit I thought I will return the favor and say few things about how Night 7 show went.
Let me start with the bad things, although there was really only one. And that’s people in the sitting sections during the show. Guys, this topic was already mentioned countless times and I know even Adele laughed at the security for telling the fans to sit down. But, but, not everybody see that as no problem.
During night 7 pretty much the whole arena was standing for all songs, with sitting breaks during Adele talking segways. I totally get the excitement for the opening act, totally get the closing act, but the rest? That should not happen. You paid just as much as other people who wanted to sit and enjoy the show, not watch your back.
I want to point out here one specific case that I witnessed and broke my heart. Section C8, row 20 or 21, sit 25-ish something. There was an older lady with crutches who was attending the show with a young girl. Security helped her sit down as she obviously had trouble walking. As you can imagine, instead of watching Adele, she pretty much spent much of the show watching other people backs. She did try to stand for at least few minutes but I can only imagine how uncomfortable that was. Even watching the big screen between all those people was really hard as I tried it myself when sitting, not possible.
I’m so sad this happened to this lady, as it’s just totally unfair. I tried to reach out to security guy to sit people the f down, but obviously he couldn’t do anything.
To the young girl who was there with that lady, if you are reading this, I’m sorry this happened to you guys. Truly, I can’t get this picture out of my head.
I was attending with friends who are also not super tall like me and had trouble seeing stuff. It’s unacceptable what happens during this shows and I wish Adele could point that out during here speeches. She did mention not standing ON the sits in the shows magazine but that’s about it.
Do better, please, mind other people around you.
Now that I got this off my chest, off to the good parts.
Sound quality: this was truly the best show in terms of sound quality I’ve ever been to. The arena is perfectly engineered to even hear Adele whispering to the mic. Huge congrats to all engineers who came up with this, it’s truly spectacular.
Queues: Following Reddit’s recommendations we took and Uber and queued at Entrance 3 next to kiss and ride area. We were there at 2:45 and there were 50 people ahead of us. The opening was supposed to happen at 3:30, was late until 3:45. During that time large queue formed behind us so be there early and prepare to stand in full sun with 0 shade.
We went straight to the big merch tent where loads of people were already queueing. Fortunately that queue moves fast and we got in the tent after 40 minutes. Inside the tent there is an area to check of merch and then another queue to cashier desks where you ask for what you want.
Important: be sure to check your receipt as I was charged twice for tote bags when I only bought one. I’ve emailed support but I expect they will tell me to get lost. So be careful as you can easily loose 30-50 euros.
Food and drinks queues are close to none, 5 minutes tops. It’s harder to find a table or a seat but if you decide to eat early you should be fine. Then you can walk around the Adele World until show begins.
Food and drinks are really nice, alcohol is alcohol, food is tasty. Some courts like I Drink Wine bar serve in glass so you can’t leave the place.
Pretty much everything you buy have a recycle deposit on it, which I loved. Every plastic bottle you get will come with red coin you can use to return empty bottle and get back 2-3 euros. Wine glasses are 5 €, wine bottles 3 euros, ice buckets 10 euros. Glass return point was the biggest queue in I Drink Wine so reserve 15-20 minutes on that just in case. You can return cash or on credit card.
Those black and white Adele plastic cups are nice but there are only certain drinks they some with like beer, ask the staff. Those cups are 3 euros, you can return them or take home.
Apart from food courts there are other activities like the carousel or the Ferris wheel or karaoke stage. Highly recommend taking Ferris wheel after the show, queue is fast and ticket is 4 euros. The view is mind blowing. Watch out not to drop your phone from the trolley. ;)
Show itself, yeah, no need to say anything apart from that you will get emotional and you will be speechless. Truly beautiful.
After the show I highly recommend to get some drinks and wait until many people leave the area. We waited until closing time at 00:30 and took an Uber. There is a subway near by which is free if you show your concert ticket but depending on where you stay the trip is 45-1h to the city center. With Uber you have to walk outside of the area pointed on the map, we managed to be picked up near the subway entrance next to the Messe.
Hope this helps and once again, sit down if you paid to be seated.
I agree on the standing, and I guess this is my 'unpopular opinion' lol. I am fit and healthy and I am perfectly able to stand for a couple of hours. I only stood when people in front of me stood, so in that sense I guess I have nothing to complain about.
Still, it feels like that standing for extended of periods of time disadvantages many. Those standing have the same view as when sat down - except for those who are shorter or those who can't stand for hours on end. At an Adele show, with a generally older crowd, that's more people than you'd think
I can also understand why people are confused when they buy tickets which are clearly marked 'seated' at the point of purchase, just to find that they're actually maybe standing depending on the people in front of them.
Anyway, I know Adele has given it her stamp of approval to standing for the whole show, but that doesn't mean I agree. I do feel like there should be a balance. Of course, I tolerate it because I love her music, but I would caution anyone older.
