Hello, hope this is the right place to post this. I've been working in an addiction treatment center for about 3 years now. Recently I took on a new role of developing healthcare groups for our patients. When looking online there really isn't much to go off as to what may be beneficial to teach for groups. I would like to make a couple of lessons with hands on activities about healthcare related topics. I know some groups are not the most interesting so I would like to make them as engaging as they can be. While I know that there is a plethora of healthcare topics out there, I would like to cater them as much as I can to addiction. For example, one group lesson that I made is how to respond to an opiate overdose and how to use narcan. I brought CPR dummies to the class along with narcan trainers and tought our patients on what to do should they encounter an emergency like that. I ran them through the steps and most of them enjoyed the group. I decides to teach about it because unfortunately addiction is what it is, addiction. Hopefully none of the patients that I work with never experience an overdose but that is being very optimistic. In reality, there will be an instance where they might encounter one so I would like for them to be prepared. That being said, I would like input as to what would be some interesting topics that I can teach. Any input is appreciated. TY
