For me it was using kidney stones at the age of 20. From that first shot of demerol I knew I had the cure for the depression I had since childhood. I didn't know that one shot would resonate through my life for 16 years. I've been able to dodge the fentanyl crisis with MAT since 2014. Almost every single daily heroin user I knew is dead from fentanyl.
