Has anyone here dealt with domestic violence?

My girlfriend gets violent and mean when she drinks. Last night I tried to go away to another room and put some distance between us, but she unlocked the door and attacked me. My hair is one giant matted mess, I’ve got scratches and bruises all over me. She almost bit my ear off, it’s covered in blood. Why do I still love her so much? I’m at a hotel now, but I just want to get back together, I can’t imagine losing her.
