I am typically straight-passing and yesterday my best friend’s mom and I got in argument about the Bible’s meaning and purpose on the topic of homosexuality (I’ve never told her I’m gay because I know she’s anti-gay rights). She said that it’s condemned, I pointed out that it’s also condemned for a woman on her period to sit in the same room as a man, furthermore, adultery is vastly more discussed and more recent interpretations of the Bible suggest that sections on homosexuality have more to do with pedophilia.
Anyway, I don’t think she listened and don’t think I did a good job of presenting my argument. What do y’all say when you encounter this topic?
