My girlfriend has grown up Roman Catholic and I am Jewish. I've considered myself mostly agnostic and culturally Jewish for years, but my relationship with her has changed that. It's cheesy, but I see godliness in her. I believe now in more ways than I thought I ever would.
She's grown up with the teachings of Roman Catholicism so in the same place where I have found solace, she's found inner discord. What she has been taught to believe isn't matching up with what she does believe/ is experiencing. I recognize that organized religion can be difficult for those identifying as LGBTQ and I hope that ya'll can share your own experiences so I (and all of us) can reflect a little more on that.
