I think this thing is pretty prevalent in WLW spaces. I mean like, I am enthusiastic about my attraction to women, women are hot, women are cool, and I am thankful for the lovely lady I am dating right now.
However…I see a lot of times a lot of us here and other sapphic spheres seem to put women on a pedestal, like they are perfect beings, which is juvenile at best and beyond toxic at worst.
Women are humans. They are flawed. They can cheat, lie, and be just as abusive as men can. And I’m not saying this to be negativistic I just honestly think a lot of us need to be real with this. I think that the overidealization of lesbian relationships is what causes a lot of women to put up with toxic and abusive behaviors with their female partners because they go in the relationship thinking “she can’t do any wrong!” And tolerating shitty behaviors.
