Valentines day and cooking

Post Body

I am usually the one to cook, but this year my partner said they wanted to cook. Which is such a rare occasion that I was beyond excited. As cooking is a key way I show love.

Because it's so important to me I had assumed they'd had something fun planned. They could have done frozen pizzas and sundaes for all I cared.

I has just assumed they had something in mind, but it turns out they didn't. They just wanted to go to the grocery store and grab whatever to throw something together.

I was/am hurt by that and I recognize that at least my disappointment because of expectations is on me.

I tried voicing this still because I couldn't hid my feelings on this. Because if it's me cooking a special meal for them I spend days sometimes longer planning and crafting the ideas in my head.

Am I being selfish? Am I wrong to be disappointed and kinda hurt?
