not sure if its where im from (southwest), but on more than one occasion ive gone out for drinks at gay bars (im 22 so i havent been drinking for that long). i get a little tipsy, the musics good so i go out to dance. theres plenty of queer people on the dance floor and theyre always lovely to dance with...but more than once a cis man tries to dance or grind on me and i have to tell him to piss off. two different occasions ive leaned in and asked "hey! are you straight? cuz im not." and they go "yeah i am but im just here with my friends." or "yeah but i think you're beautiful"
how does that saying go- if i had a nickel for every time this has happened, id have two nickels. which isnt very much but its weird that its happened twice, right?
