Being a blck lesbian is one of the most lonely and isolating things ever. I am extremely lonely and I can try as hard as I can to think about my future about moving to a different place and yada yada yada, but in all honesty I’ve never felt so confused and alone as I have felt as a black lesbian.
This is a little bit of a think piece, but I think what stuns me the most is the overwhelming feeling of not being welcome in lesbian spaces once other lesbians know you’re black.
The experience as a black lesbian is very different as well to anything else most people document here. It just makes me wonder whether us as lesbians are actually willing to delve deeper into issues concerning race. Because spaces online are overwhelmingly white.
Idk, but is there anyone else out there who can help with how they combated their loneliness?
