Dating App Frustration

Post Body

I know there's tons of posts on this sub about apps, but I don't know where else to vent my frustrations with people who get it.

I'm so, so tired of using these dating apps, it feels like NOTHING out there is truly made for wlw! I've used tinder, bumble, hinge, and HER and have had next to zero luck on all of them after 3 years of being on and off the apps.

By far the most frustrating part is the unicorn chasers and couples looking for a third. I will say it kind of sucks that a huge portion of the people in my area are poly and most already have a primary partner (something that im not interested in engaging in, more power to the people that can make it work but its just not for me) at least those profiles typically clearly say that they're not looking for monogamy and I can just swipe left. The unicorn chasers are MUCH more likely to either have their boyfriend in the last pic on their profile or just hide it completely until you match with them.

The second thing that's sucked is the lack of engagement from matches. I'm not afraid to message first and I'll either shoot a simple hi or find something on their profile to ask about. The majority of the time there's no response or the conversation fizzles quickly.

I'm sure there's other things I could be doing to try to get more matches and engagement but I'm just burnt out at this point. I'm gonna be 27 next month and feel like dating is just a lost cause at this point. Dramatic? Probably. But it's what I've been feeling. I just need to know I'm not the only one that's feeling this way.
