Noob question about ipv6 and windows AD
Post Body

Hey everyone,

I'm seeking some advice on IPv6 setup as I'm a bit of a newbie in this area. While I'm fairly comfortable with IPv4 concepts like class A, B, C, and RFC1918, I'm struggling to get IPv6 working smoothly in my network.

Currently, I have pfSense handling DHCP with my Windows AD server managing DNS. When I disable IPv6 on a workstation, I can connect to the domain without any issues. However, enabling IPv6 causes connectivity problems.

I'm looking for guidance on setting up IPv6 properly. Specifically, I'm unsure how to assign a static IPv6 address, determine the appropriate address space, and configure DNS to work seamlessly with IPv6.

I'm also considering whether it would be easier to switch DNS over to my AD box or if there's a way to make IPv6 work within my current setup with DHCP on pfSense and DNS on Server 2022 AD.

Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
