Over the past few days I’ve seen a house divided on this particular character, and it is rather baffling to me. It is rather troubling seeing people, who’ve read all the books so far, still dismiss Nesta as a cold, callous, and heartless woman. As someone who was a pervious Nesta hater in the first book and slowly came to enjoy her story, especially the heavy character development from ACOWAR to ACOSF, I don’t understand how there are people in this fandom who still despise her. Now, I’m not saying I’m qualified, but I wonder if people hate her character so much is because they potentially see themselves as her. A person with unresolved trauma, grief, and pain reading about a character who is the same but acts in different ways. A ziegiest of the personal issues and fictitious characters with the same issues. What I’m about to say next might really upset a few people: I think, for those who have FULLY (what to make that clear) read the series and still hate Nesta, do not understand the theme of grief, pain, loss, and simply have not understood the story.
This is meant to be open for full transparency and dialogue; all are welcome to throw their hat in the ring.
NOTE: I’m truly enjoying all the responses to those who are replying and building a dialogue.
