Those with a 2.0t accord, what else did you test drive/cross shop?
Post Body

I'm looking to buy a sedan that has a bit of a mix of performance & luxury but also don't want to spend a fortune.

The Accord is pretty affordable esp if I buy a 2018-2021 model 2.0t Sport or EX-L. I wish it had AWD, but had a few questions:

  1. How does road noise compare to other vehicles you might have tested?
  2. Anything you dislike about it after driving it for a while?

I'm currently considering:

  • 2019-2020 Accord 2.0t EX-L (avoiding 2018 first model year)
  • Toyota Avalon/Lexus ES350 with 3.5 2GR - seems luxurious but more of a boat/cruiser type car. 5yr TCO similar to Accord. Maybe feels boring though. I'd prob buy 2019 here to get Carplay and the new TNGA platform.
  • Lexus GS350 - much more luxurious and RWD/AWD, but worse on gas, and 5yr cost of ownership is like $50k vs. $35k for Accord.
  • Acura TLX I think I've ruled out due to weight and the flakey 9spd transmission
  • I'd buy an Acura RLX hybrid but super rare
  • I'd love a BMW 340xi but even w/ the new B58 and ZF transmission I don't think I can trust it extra maintenance costs.

I think for the most part I'm ruling out hybrids because I'll likely only do 5k miles a year or so unless I saw a good deal.
