Sorry for this long explanation in advance. My team is tasked with upgrading a warehouse that has 64 doors to Lenel/OnGauard 8.1. It was being controlled by an old Honeywell Star controller which I have no experience with. With the Honeywell system each door has a "Popit" that is addressed and multiplexed back to the panel with only four 22/4 security wires. This allowed all doors to be monitored. How do I continue to monitor all 64 doors using existing wires and door contacts? I have researched and found that Bosch makes popits and popex for multiplexing but not sure how it would tie into Lenel. Or is there something in OnGuard's System Administration that I am missing in configuration of the 1100 boards? The pain in the ass would be running new conduit and 64 wires to each door and back to four LNL-1100 boards. Obviously don't want to do that if I can avoid it. I know I could daisy chain them but the police wouldn't know which door was opened specifically. That old Honeywell system could multiplex so why couldnt Lenel be able to? If anyone has a solution, I would greatly appreciate any advice and the opportunity to learn and build upon my skill set.
