Advice for JM candidates in 2024-2025 cycle?
Post Body

Does anyone have advice for those of us heading onto the 2024-2025 job market? I am at a b-school applied econ (more or less) department and took classes with econ folks in, and have committee members from, our T-25 econ program. Fields: public, labor, health.

I have a good idea of the small niche market of my business field…but I am wondering if people have advice about navigating the econ and/or public policy (or other departmental outcomes) job markets! Thought it may be good to ask also as someone not coming from regular econ, though thankfully my advisors are all econ PhDs. I’m of the mindset to always ask for ample advice and then sift through.

I’d be grateful, as would likely lurkers of this thread!
