Does Ableton use GPU

Let's sort this out once and for all: does Ableton run better on a laptop with a GPU chip and if so, will a better one make much difference?

If you throw writing to video into the mix does that change anything?

I've read a few comments about it on this forum and they all contradict each other. Some people say don't worry about it and some say it clocks their GPU like crazy.

EDIT: Oh and how much processing does the actual display of the interface take? Would there then be a way to turn down the refresh rate on that stuff if it was too intensive?
