FTMP gathered with supporters in Glasgow today to launch his campaign for the seat of Central Scotland.
"Good afternoon everybody, thank you very much for being here. After our first election, we did nae have a government but what did have was a clear path forward with a fresh election. You gave the SNP a clear mandate to lead, with a strong 44% of the vote.
"The SNP has a vision for a strong twenty-first century Scotland. We're committed to starting negotiations to join the EU and the eurozone. We'll invest in renewable energy to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We'll begin the process of denuclearisation.
"The Scottish National Party believes in equality of opportunity for everyone. We'll retain funding for the NHS and tertiary education. Our vision of the future is a fairer Scotland. The actions of previous governments have hurt low income households. We will invest in our future, rather than cutting back on spending on vital services.
"I believe you should elect me as your MSP because I care about this community. Thought I've not been here long, this community has welcomed me and I am committed to representing it well in Parliament."
FTMP spoke with supporters for the rest of the afternoon before moving on to another event.
