The ODT can today confirm that the Otago Fish and Game Council and Aukaha has penned a letter to the government regarding the Lake Onslow pumped hydro project.

The groups have confirmed they at this stage do not wish to stop the project going ahead, but instead are wanting the government to provide assurances on the mitigation of issues, environmental and social before much work goes ahead.

At this stage the ODT does not have the letter provided to the government, but this is likely to follow by the end of the week.
